Wedding in Hawaii / Requirements:
Marrying in Hawaii is an easy affair:
No waiting time, no blood tests, no residency requirements.
Both bride and groom must be at least 18 years of age.
To legalize your marriage, you will need to obtain a marriage license.
Marriage License:
The license must be obtained in Hawaii, at the State Dep. of Health
or a state registered marriage license agent. All of our Maui
wedding plans include assistance and appointment arrangements
with a marriage license agent nearest to your hotel.
The cost of the license is $65, payable in cash directly to the
licenser.
Both bride and groom must be present when applying for the license.
You will need to bring your photo IDs (drivers license or state ID).
For anyone 19 years or under, proof of age in the form of a certified
birth certificate may be required. License is good for 30 days in the
state of Hawaii, including the date of issuance, prior to the actual wedding.
If either bride or groom had been separated by death or divorce from a
previous marriage, you will need to know the date and location of the
separation. No documents are required. (In case the separation took
place less than 60 days ago, a certified copy of documents is needed).
You will also need to know the full names of your parents, as well as
the
maiden name of the mother.
(As of June 1995, the rubella test is no longer required for the
bride.)
Maui Wedding will arrange an appointment for you at a registered
agent's office nearest to your hotel, at your convenience.
